Jakarta. Indonesian Asian Games Organizing Committee, or Inasgoc, decided to sell 75,000 festival tickets for the closing ceremony of Asian Games 2018, which will be held on Sunday (02/09) at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta, an official said.
The decision was taken to channel people enthusiasm to watch the event in its venue, More than 30,000 tickets have been sold as of Friday, Aug.31, Sarman Simanjorang, director of ticketing system at Inasgoc, said.
The organizer will also prepare two screens to add to the three existing ones, he said.
Simanjorang said Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium has a capacity of 55,000 seats, however 20 percent of them will be allocated for invited guests.
“There will be special allocation of seats for VIP guests of about 5,000, sponsors and invited guests. The total will be 20 percent (of the allocated seats),” he explained, adding that all available seats for spectators had sold out.
More people can get seats in the closing ceremony compared to the opening one due to less decorations required.
From security aspect, 9,422 personnel from Police and Military (TNI) will guard the closing ceremony, Senior Comr. Slamet Hadi, head of operations at Jakarta Police headquarters said in a press conference in Jakarta on Friday.
Security operation command will be under the Police said Col. Zamroni, head operations at Jayakarta Military Command (Kodam Jaya) that oversees areas including Jakarta.
