JAKARTA, Aug.30 (JDN.id) – More than 9,000 Indonesia’s security personnels will be deployed to secure the closing ceremony of 2018 Asian Games on Sunday, Sept.2 at Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium, Jakarta.
“We prepare 9,422 personnel from Police, Military, Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) and ambulance especially for fast response if anything happens,” National Police Chief Gen. Tito Karnavian said on Thursday in Jakarta.
Karnavian expressed his hope that the closing ceremony of Asian Games will be able to go as expected without any disruption or incident.
Overall, he said, the 18th Asian Games has been progressing well since its opening on Aug.18.
“There are a number of small cases, such as (people) losing cellphones, but usually they can be found,” he said.
The coordination meeting on the Asian Games’ closing ceremony was held at the Jakarta Police headquarters, attended by Military Commander Marshall Hadi Tjahjanto, Inasgoc Chairman Erick Thohir, Jakarta Police Chief Insp. Gen. Idham Azis, Jakarta Military Commander Maj. Gen. Joni Supriyanto and West Java Police Chief Insp. Gen. Agung Budi Maryoto.
