JAKARTA, Aug.26 (JDN.id) – Indonesia earned one more gold on Sunday afternoon in Asian Games 2018 from jet ski, presented by Aqsa Sutan Aswar, 21.
The sport is played for the first time in this year’s Games, proposed by the host country.
“Aqsa’s victory that seized gold is the fruit of one year struggle at training camp…Our target from jet ski was one gold,” Syafruddin, head of Indonesian contingent to 18th Asian Games said after witnessing the achievement.
Aswar collected cumulative score of 1,148 from three sets of jet ski’s endurance runabout open event, held at Indonesia’s Jet Ski Academy’s circuit in Ancol, North Jakarta.
In the second and third places for the event went to United Arab Emirates’ Ali Alanjawi and Thailand’s Suphatat Footrakul.
On Friday, Aswar failed to finish at runabout limited event due to engine problem at the last lap, but his elder brother Aero Sultan Aqsa won silver medal for Indonesia.
Aswar contributed the 12th gold for Indonesia in Asian Games 2018.
