JAKARTA, Aug.24 (JDN.id) – Indonesia’s national air carrier Garuda Indonesia in cooperation with CIMB Niaga Bank launched an online travel fair from 24-30 August, the airlines said on Thursday.
Garuda Indonesia Online Travel Fair (GOTF) phase-2 offers domestic and international air tickets with interesting affordable prices as low-cost air carrier Citilink, Garuda’s subsidiary unit, is joined the fair.
“The use of digital technology in tourism industry right now is a must to attract millennial market,” Ni Wayan Giri Adyani, marketing deputy at the Tourism Ministry said, adding that 80 percent of tourists, especially foreigners, are using air transportation to mobile.
Garuda succeed holding first phase of GOTF in May this year when it earned 173 billion rupiah ($11.8 million).
“For this period GOTF, we expects 185 billion rupiah from sales and 2 million website’s visitors,” Nina Sulistyowati, domestic sales director of Garuda Indonesia, said
For the second phase of GOTF, CIMB Bank as a partner offered payment solution through credit cards to help travelers to plan their trips.
“We provides five prime domestic tourist destinations, which are Bali, Yogyakarta, Malang (East Java), Sorong (West Papua) and Tanjung Pinang (Riau Islands),” Sulistyowati explained
Garuda also offers prime international routes for travellers such as to China’s Beijing, Ghuangzhou and Shanghai, to India, Japan, South Korea, Singapore and Thailand, according to Sigit Muhartono, the company’s director cargo and international sales.
