JAKARTA, Aug.23 (JDN.id) – Indonesian Foreign Affairs Ministry has repatriated the body of an Indonesian female student from Bayreuth University who was drowning in Lake Trebgast Badesse, Bavaria, Germany on August 9, an official said on Thursday.
Director of citizen protection and legal aid department at the ministry, Lalu Muhammad Iqbal, said the body has arrived on Thursday at Jakarta’s Soekarno Hatta International Airport at 11.35 a.m. by Thai Airways flight via Bangkok.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ staff has been coordinating with the (victim’s) family for the handling at the airport and the transfer process to Malang (East Java),” Iqbal said.
The official said, the family arranged an early flight to Malang on Friday at 07.15 a.m. and is expected to arrive in Malang at 08:45 a.m. with Sriwijaya Air flight.
He reiterated that the ministry and Indonesian Consulate-General in Frankfurt have assisted the process since the search process by the local authorities began to the return of the body.
