JAKARTA, Aug.20 (JDN.id) – Indonesia has secured two more golds and one bronze in Asian Games 2018 contributed by the country’s downhill cyclists on Monday in Subang, West Java.
This has put Indonesia currently in fourth place in this year’s Asian Olympic.
Cyclist Khoiful Mukhib became the fastest in the men’s downhill division with a record of 2 minutes and 16.687 seconds sending Chiang Sheng-san from Taiwan and Thai Suebsakun Sukchanya to two and third places.
Previously, cyclist Tiara Andini Prastika also won gold from women’s downhill defeating her fellow country cyclist Nining Porwaningsih who came third, and Thai Vipavee Deekaballes second.
Indonesia has set a target of four gold medals in cycling.
Indonesia so far has bagged four gold medals, two silvers and two bronzes. Other athletes who contributed gold medals to the Indonesian contingent are Defia Rosmaniar from taekwondo and Lindswell Kwok from wushu.
Additional silver and bronze medals for Indonesia came from women’s and men’s weightlifting.
Indonesia expects to be in the top 10 Asian Games 2018 medalists which means a minimum of 16 gold medals must be won.
