JAKARTA, July 31 (JDN.id) – The Social Security Administration Body for Employment, or BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, is committed to protect Indonesian athletes who will participate in the upcoming Asian Games.
The agency signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Indonesia’s Olympic Committee (KOI) on Friday last week. The MOU states that athletes will be given occupational accident and death insurances, which aims to improve their psychology.
“By giving (them) occupational accident and death insurances, athletes can focus on the preparation through intensive training to reach optimum achievements,” said Agus Susanto, director of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan.
Chairman of KOI Erick Thohir said that by giving Indonesian athletes life protection in the form of insurance, BPJS Ketenagakerjaan has improved the appreciation of their presence.
“Thanks to BPJS Ketenagakerjaan because these athletes must have added-value. This cooperation aims to prosper our athletes,” Thohir said during the signing ceremony.
