JAKARTA, July 16 (JDN.id) – Indonesia’s biggest lender Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) has successfully organised an international golf competition, Indonesia Open 2018, in Jakarta.
follow url The event ended on Sunday with South African golfer Justin Harding seized the first award.
Golfer Scott Vincent from Zimbabwe came second, while Chapchai Nirat from Thailand and Sihwan Kim from the US were both in the third place. Total price of the competition was $500,000, BRI said in the statement received by JDN.id.
Vice President Jusuf Kalla led the closing ceremony and handed over awards to the winners. Kalla was accompanied by BRI’s CEO Suprajanto and Chairman of Indonesia’s Golf Association (PGI) Murdaya Widyawimarta.
“Apart from giving young Indonesian golfers opportunity, this tournament is also a farming up games prior to Asian Games 2018,” said Suprajanto.
BRI is the main sponsor of the golf tournament and will be one of the sponsors of 18th Asian Games that will be held in Jakarta and Palembang next month.
According to PGI, Harding won the competition with an 18-under-par 270 total at Pondok Indah Golf Range, Jakarta.
