JAKARTA, July 13 (JDN.id) – No Indonesians were among victims of explosion near Cairo International Airport on Thursday evening, Indonesian Ambassador to Egypt Helmy Fauzy confirmed on Friday.
“Thank God, there is no report on any Indonesian nationals among yesterday’s explosion victims,” Fauzy said in a statement.
The explosion from a chemical factory near the airport was due to high temperature and injured 12 people, authorities said. The airport activities remained normal despite the incident.
The blast was reportedly heard all the way to Heliopolis, a city located 11 km (6.8 miles) from the centre of explosion, and the city of Nasr, 14 km away from the location of incident.
