watch JAKARTA, July 9 (JDN.id) – Indonesian government launched its Online Single Submission (OSS) system on Monday, aimed to speed up the process of issuing a business permit and help central government and regional government improve their coordination.
Through the integrated service system business community can enjoy simple process for getting a permit, Chief Economy Minister Darmin Nasution said.
“A business license can be received within less than one hour,” Nasution ensured as quoted in the ministry’s press statement.
According to Nasution, the system has been developed since Oct. 2017. It is basically connecting services from several related government institutions such as the investment coordinating board, the justice and human rights ministry, assisted by the communication and informatics ministry.
“Right now, OSS is running by chief economic ministry office, supported by Indonesia’s National Single Window (INSW) and related ministries,” Nasution explained.
here He said in the future the system will be led by the investment coordinating board (BKPM) permanently.
Thomas Lembong, chief of BKPM, urged businessmen who have licenses to synchronize it with OSS system to get business license number (NIB).
OSS promotes self-service process which also provides help desk, priority service, general investment consultation and business clinic, Lembong explained.
Task forces to assist adaptation process have been set in provincial, regency and municipally level across Indonesia, he said.
President Joko Widodo or Jokowi is confident that OSS System can help the country win global competition.
“Speed is the key. Speed of action and service. We must have such a mindset. Otherwise, do not talk about competitiveness,” Jokowi said last Friday as reported by the cabinet secretariat.
