JAKARTA, June 23 (JDN.id) – Indonesian anti-terror police, Detachment 88 shot death two suspected terrorist on Saturday morning in an arrest effort outskirt Jakarta and arrested a member of Islamic State-affiliated Jemaah Anshaurut Daulah (JAD), a police spokesman said.
Brig. Gen. Muhammad Iqbal, a national police spokesman said the two individuals fought police when officers wanted to arrest them by using military knife and gun. Police responded by shot them to die on the scene.
“A law enforcement effort was taken against terrorism network that plan to lunch terror attacks in the near future,” Iqbal said as reported by liputan6.com.
An Indonesian district court on Friday sentenced the leader of JAD Aman Abdurrahman to death for his involvement in various terror attacks in Indonesia, including 2016 Thamrin attacks, in Central Jakarta and 2017 Kampung Melayu bus terminal bombings in East Jakarta.
According to state prosecutors, Abdurrahman preached to his followers to against democracy system, which is applied by the government of Indonesia, saying that the ideology is evil teachings, therefore should be fought it.
