According to the panel of five judges at the South Jakarta District Court, Abdurrahman was involved in several terror attacks in Indonesia, including 2016 in Thamrin, Central Jakarta and 2017 in Kampung Melayu bus terminal in East Jakarta.
“The defendant has proven legally and convincing of conducting terrorism acts. Sentencing the defendant Aman Abdurrahman alias Oman Rochman alias Abu Sulaiman with death penalty,” Presiding judge Akhmad Jaini said as broadcasted by Metro TV.

Abdurrahman was arrested first in 2004 for assembling a bomb that exploded at his house in Cimanggis, Depok,West Java. For that event he was sentenced for seven years in prison.
In 2010, he was captured by police and got nine years jail sentence for financing a militant military training camp in Jantho, Aceh. He was kept in a prison in Nusakambangan super maximum prison island in Central Java.
Prior to his release on parole in August 2017, police detained the 46 year old cleric for his role in several terror attacks.
He is now detained at the police mobile brigade (Brimob) headquarter in Depok, West Java. The justice and human rights ministry’s penitentiary department will decide where Abdurrahman to held after the court decision.
