go site JAKARTA, June 18 (JDN.id) – Indonesian police dropped its investigation over Rizieq Shihab, the founder of an Indonesian Muslim hardliner group the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI), on sexual chat with a women, due to his lawyer team’s request and the fact that the uploader of the chatting has yet found.
“After conducting the case examination, ite was stopped because according to the investigators the uploader (of the chatting) has yet found,” Brig. Gen. Muhammad Iqbal, a national police spokesman said as quoted by kumparan.com on Sunday.
Shihab has been living abroad since he left the country for ummrah or minor hajj to Saudi Arabia in May last year, shortly after his sexual chat through WhatsApp with social activist Firza Husein was leaked.

The sexual chat is only one among 17 cases that police have been investigating regarding Shihab, according to kumparan.com.
Police investigators have interrogated Shihab in Saudi Arabia in August 2017, the National Police Chief Gen. Tito Karnavian has said.
