JAKARTA, June 14 (JDN.id) – The 2018 FIFA World Cup, a quadrille international football competition, kicked off in Moscow on Thursday, which the inaugural match was won by the host country, Russia that defeated Saudi Arabia with score 5:0.
The first goal for Russia, which also the first goal for the tournament, was made by Iury Gazinsky at minute 12, FIFA’s website stated.
Other goals were made by Denis Cheryshev, Artem Dzyuba and Aleksandr Golovin. Chryshev contributed two goals, made at minute 43 and 90+1.
Russia led the game that was held at Luzhniki Stadium at the first half of the game with 2:0.
Russia and Saudi Arabia are in group A along with Egypt and Uruguay.
