JAKARTA, June 14 (JDN.id) – A magnitude 4.8 earthquake hit Indonesia’s Madura island, East Java on late Wednesday night, wounding six people and damaging more than 70 houses and buildings, an official said on Thursday.
Sutopo Purwo Nugroho, the spokesman of the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB), said that the center of the quake was on shore, 6 km Northeast Sumenep sea. It was a shallow earthquake, caused by earth plate, he said.
