JAKARTA, June 2 (JDN.id) – Police anti-terror unit Detachment 88 arrested three militants planning to attack the House of Representatives building in Jakarta, the National Police spokesman said in a statement on Saturday.
The three terrorist suspects, who were arrested at Riau University in Pekanbaru on the same day, have assembled four pipe bombs at the university campus, National Police spokesman Setyo Wasito said in the statement, adding other explosives, a hand grenade, air gun, bows and arrows were also found in the crime scene.
“They plan to attack the House of Representatives and local representatives’ buildings,” Setyo said.
He said those militants spread the way of making bomb through social media platform Telegram.
The bombs were high explosion, which using triacetone triperoxide (TATP). The material was also used in Surabaya church bombings in May.
